Heather Woods is an attorney with more than a decade of experience practicing commercial litigation. Her practice areas include business litigation, real estate disputes, construction defects, financial and regulatory compliance, adversary bankruptcy litigation, and general commercial litigation. Ms. Woods has represented public and private business entities, including their officers, directors, and other stakeholders, real estate developers, lenders, landowners, and insurance companies. Ms. Woods routinely creates innovative solutions for clients before litigation, through alternative dispute resolutions methods, and in state and federal courts both in Florida and around the country.
Prior to joining the firm, Heather was an associate at a leading business and real estate law firm in Miami, as outside counsel for major financial institutions, and at a boutique corporate law firm in Wilmington, Delaware.
Her breadth of civil litigation experience includes, among others, cases involving fraud, breach of contract, breaches of fiduciaries duties, shareholder derivative actions, tortious interference, construction defects, title disputes, regulatory violations, consumer protection issues, contested foreclosures, insurance matters, and adversary proceedings.
Prior to entering private practice, Heather clerked for the Hon. Richard F. Stokes in the Delaware Superior Court, a court of general jurisdiction that handles both civil and criminal matters and serves as an appellate court to the Court of Common Pleas and administrative agencies throughout Delaware. She also interned for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida for the Hon. Thomas G. Wilson and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, Appellate Division.
Ms. Woods proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the Junior League of Miami, as a member of ChambersNXT, and regularly volunteers her time to assist members of the Miami-Dade community.
